We are proud to announce that UC Invest has taken another step in our ongoing effort to operate more sustainably. We will be reducing our energy consumption and green house emissions thanks to the installation of a 100kw solar panel system on the roof of our Pirie Street building.
With 400 panels on the roof working hard to generate electricity we will be providing power to the air conditioning system and lifts of the building. We estimate that the new solar panels will save around $35,000 per annum on power which is a fantastic saving for UC Invest, our investors and of course the environment.
We’re looking forward to the hot, sunny summer days ahead so we can get the panels working to full capacity. UC Invest Manager, Paul Barnett explains;
“UC Invest is committed to reducing our carbon footprint. This is another step in the right direction. We look forward to lower expenses and making a positive impact on the environment. We are also looking at our current lighting and energy usage and are keen to make further changes which will decrease the amount of carbon emitted from our location.”
