On 24 January 2018, ASIC granted us our application for an Australian Financial Services Licence (AFSL). This was the culmination of hard work over many months, as we needed the AFSL to ensure we could keep delivering quality service and investment products as we have done for more than 40 years.
In 2017 we established a new company called Uniting Church SA Investment Fund Ltd (UCSAIF). This company was solely opened to hold an AFSL and run the UC Invest business on behalf of the Church. UC Invest has been an activity of the Church, but from 1 April 2018 it will be a business inside Uniting Church SA Investment Fund Ltd.
It is reassuring that the UCSAIF Committee Members are the same people who are Members of the Uniting Church Investment Committee (UCIC). Many of these Committee Members may be well known to you, as they have been on the UCIC for some time.
Our frontline staff that you are familiar with will not change, nor will the relationships they have built with you over the past 40 years. Our team, who customers speak with via phone or in our office, are excited about the changes and committed to servicing our investors as we have done for four decades.
So, although the legal structure may be changing, for us it is business as usual. The service will be same, and the same skilled people will be providing the governance oversight of UC Invest.
If you have any questions about the changes, please contact us on 1300 274 151 or info@ucinvest.com.au. We look forward to all investors reading, signing and returning the forms to our office to ensure we can transfer all investors into our new structure.
Regards
Paul Barnett
