Brooklyn Park – Refurbishment – $1.5M for Leadership & Theology

Once again UC Invest is supporting development in our community by providing a $1.5 million grant to assist with the refurbishment of the Brooklyn Park campus of the Uniting College of Leadership & Theology. The Brooklyn Park Refurbishment Team (BPRT), appointed late in 2015, have an ambitious development schedule which includes detailed design, approvals and construction. Building work has recently commenced with practical completion anticipated by the end of November and the site fully operational by early 2018.

It is expected that part of the existing site, located behind Adelaide West Uniting Church, will be sold to a private school with the remainder being retained and redeveloped as a fit for purpose theological college.

Plans for an integrated campus style for the site have been produced this will allow for the Adelaide College of Divinity and Uniting College of Leadership & Theology to come together in an integrated hub where the two educational institutions can equally benefit. Space has also been allocated for Adelaide West Uniting Church to utilise the hub and to provide practical links for ministry education.

At the recent information session Rev. Prof. Andrew Dutney, Principal of Uniting College said The Brooklyn Park refurbishment project is a significant opportunity to build community and a campus where those utilising the facility and grounds can have input it is built together.
