Am I Classified As A Wholesale Investor?
‘Wholesale’ or ‘Sophisticated’ clients refer to a legal classification of investor defined within the Corporations Act.
The simplest test of a wholesale investor is the funds invested test. Any company, individual, trust etc who invests $500,000 can be classified as ‘Wholesale’.
A wholesale investor is deemed to understand the investment risk and therefore the same protections and disclosure requirements do not apply in the wholesale space.
