Do I have to be a Uniting Church member to open an investment with UC Invest?
Is UC Invest under the government guarantee?
How do I open an investment? Do I need to come in person? Do I need to be identified?
Opening a New Investment Account is Simple
- Visit our website and click Open an Account.
- You’ll be taken to our secure online application form—just follow the steps to complete your application.
What you’ll need:
- To be at least 18 years of age
- 5–10 minutes to complete the application
- Access to a mobile device
- Australian residency
- A valid Australian Driver’s Licence or Passport
As part of the process, you’ll be asked to verify your identity by submitting your ID through a secure digital verification service.

Can I pay in cash?
No. UC Invest is unable to accept cash.
We can transfer funds, either to or from your nominated external bank account.
What is TTS and how do we get it?
Telephone Transfer Service (TTS) is a staff assisted transfer service designed to allow you to manage your investments simply and quickly over the phone.
As this is not an automatic phone service, the TTS is only available during our office hours.
You can opt for TTS service in the New Investment Application Form or by completing an Account Access / Change of Details Form.
Can I transfer funds to a third party?
31 Day Notice Account Questions.
How do I access funds from my 31 day Notice Accounts?
To withdraw funds from your 31 Day Notice account, we must receive notice of your withdrawal request first, then you will be required to wait 31 days before the funds will be withdrawn from your investment account. You will need to complete and sign a Withdrawal Request form and send it to us at UC Invest. This can be done by post or a scanned attachment to an email or in person. If you have registered for our Telephone Transfer Service (TTS), this can be as simple as a phone call.
After I’ve given you notice, when does the 31 days start?
When the written request has been received at the UC Invest Office, or on the day of your phone instructions through TTS, we will begin the 31 day countdown for your withdrawal request.
Can I give 31 days’ notice using UC Invest Online?

Where does my gift go?
Your eGive contribution is given straight to your Congregation where it’s used to support your church’s operations and local outreach programs.
No fees or charges are ever deducted from your gift to your Congregation.
Do I have to hold an account with UC Invest to use eGive?
What does eGive cost to use?
Nothing, not a penny. We believe your gift should reach your Congregation fee free. UC Invest will never charge you to give.
Can I elect to remain anonymous?
Yes. While we send your Congregation a monthly statement detailing all contributions received, you can elect to remain completely anonymous. If you elect to remain anonymous all of your personal details will be kept strictly confidential and never be provided to your Congregation.
Can I alter my eGive request?
Yes. You can update your details including the amount, debit date, frequency of transaction and personal information by simply contacting our office on 1300 274 151. You can even postpone or cancel an individual transaction if required.
The only thing that you can’t alter over the phone are your bank account or credit card details.

How do we register for UC Invest Online?
To register your existing accounts for UC Invest Online you will need to complete an Account Access / Change of Details Form.
The completed form can be returned in person to our 212 Pirie Street, Adelaide office or mailed to us at GPO Box 2145, Adelaide SA 5001.
If you are opening a new account, you can request UC Invest Online access on the application form.
When do we get our UC Invest Online password?
Once we have successfully processed your application for access to UC Invest Online, we will mail you a Member Number and instructions for logging in the first time.
During this ‘First Time Log In’ process you will set your UC Invest Online password.
Do I need a mobile phone to use UC Invest Online?
What is an SMS Security Code?
When does an SMS Security Code expire?
SMS Security Codes have a relatively short life. Our security codes are only valid for 5 minutes before they expire.
If a code expires before you have used it, simply send a request for another security code.
What if our SMS Security Code is not accepted?
SMS Security Code could be rejected for a number of reasons, including expiry due to time delay.
If the code you enter is rejected, simply send a request for another security code.

What accounts can we view in UC Invest Online?
You can view both personal and organisation accounts with one Member Number.
For an account to be visible in UC Invest Online you must have registered to access the account by completing an Account Access / Change of Details Form.
Currently only at call and fixed term investments are available in UC Invest Online.
How can we view our transaction history?
There are four ways to view your transaction history information:
- Hover over Account Information in the main menu and click on Transaction History
- Click on your Investment Number in the home page My Investments / My Organisations summary table
- Use the blue Quick Links that are located at numerous points around the site
- Use the ‘site-map’ menu links at the bottom of each page

Never click a link in an email which claims will take you to UC Invest Online.
We will never send you an email of this nature. You should immediately notify us that you received a fraudulent email.
Will you ever send me an email requesting personal information?
No. We will never send an email requesting you to update your personal details.
If you receive such an email, you should immediately notify us that you received a fraudulent email.
Never respond to any email requesting personal information.
What happens if someone else discovers my password?

How do I reset my password after being locked out?
You can reset your password in two ways:
- Contact us during business hours to request a password reset.
- If you have previously completed your Questions and Answers you should be able to reset your password online with the following steps:
- Visit UC Invest Online.
- Click on the green ‘Reset Password’ tab and enter your Member Number and date of birth.
You will be prompted for an SMS Security Code.
On request, the Security Code will be sent to your registered mobile phone and needs to be entered immediately.
(SMS Security Codes expire within 5 minutes – if your code expires, simply request another Security Code). - You will be prompted to enter the answer 2 of your listed Questions and Answers.
- If you answer the questions correctly, you will be able to reset your password.
- Visit UC Invest Online.

General Questions.
How do we open an investment for our UCSA Congregation? Do we need to come in person? Do we need to be identified?
You can open an investment by simply filling out the New Investment Application form.
If there are any signatories listed for the new investment that have not previously been identified, they will need to complete an Identity Verification Form and follow the verification requirements as stated on the form.
Please return the completed forms to our office, either in person or by mail. Note that emailed copies of these documents cannot be accepted.
Can we pay in cash?
Can we have the option to write cheques?
How do we change the signatories for the Congregation’s Investments?
To change the signatories for the Congregations investments with us the forms you will need are:
- Signatory Authorisation Form – completed and signed by each signatory who is authorised to operate the investment, whether they are new or existing.
- Identity Verification Form – if the signatory has not previously been identified, they will need to complete an Identity Verification Form, including a certified photocopy of the identification presented.
- A copy of the minutes noting the changes to the signatories from the Congregation.
How do Congregations withdraw funds?
You can request transfers in many ways.
You can make the request in writing by using a Withdrawal Request or Additional Investment form and sending it to us in person, by post or a scanned attachment to an email.
If you have registered for our Telephone Transfer Service (TTS), you can make your request by phone.
You can also request transfers via UC Invest Online if you have registered with us for this service.

What is UC Invest Online? What can I do with it?
UC Invest Online is a facility to assist with the day to day management of your investments with us. Authorised signatories, who are registered for UC Invest Online are able to:
- View the details of the Congregation’s at call and fixed term investments
- View the current balances and transaction details
- Have the option of receiving online statements
- Have the option of transferring funds from at call investments to an external bank account
How do we register for UC Invest Online?

UC Invest Online: Transfer Funds.
How do we withdraw funds from our investment account?
To withdraw funds from your investment account you will need to complete a New Transfer request in UC Invest Online.
There are three ways you can find the New Transfer page:
- Hover over Transfer Funds in the main menu and click on New Transfer
- Use the blue Quick Links that are located at various points around the site
- Use the ‘site-map’ menu links at the bottom of each page
Please note that you cannot transfer funds from a fixed term investment.
Where can we transfer money to?
If we make a transfer to another financial institution, when will it appear?
A transfer to another financial institution will not appear immediately.
If you complete a transaction before our processing cut-off time (3.30pm Adelaide time) your payment will generally be sent overnight.
These payments would normally appear in the recipient’s account on the next day.
If you complete a transaction after our processing cut-off time, or on a weekend or public holiday, your payment will be sent on the next business day.
Therefore, depending on when you complete your transaction, it could take up to 3 business days to reach your recipient’s account.
Can we set up regular or future dated transfers?
Can we restrict access to transferring funds?
Yes. If you do not want ‘Pay Anyone’ access from your investment account, you may elect to have your investment linked to a Nominated Account at another financial institution.
This means that any payments from your investment will only be sent to your Nominated Account.
What is the maximum amount that we can withdraw?
By default, we will set a maximum transfer limit of $5,000 per day.
You may elect to increase this amount to a maximum of $15,000 per day.
Any changes to your transfer limits will need to be received on an Account Access / Change of Details Form.
Why are we sometimes prompted for an SMS Security Code?
There are certain transactions and requests processed via UC Invest Online require additional security measures to protect your account information and money.
What is my Address Book?
Your Address Book is a listing of account numbers that you regularly pay money to.
The Address Book feature saves you from having to re-enter the account details every time you make a transfer to a regular account.
How do we add accounts to my Address Book?
You can only add an account to your Address Book when you process a New Transfer.
There is a check box option at the bottom of the New Transfer screen that when selected will add the account to your Address Book at the completion of the transfer.
Can we edit account details in our Address Book?
You can only remove accounts from your Address Book or change the account holder’s name.
The BSB Number and Account Number cannot be altered.
What are Pending Transfers?
Pending transfers only apply to accounts that use more than one signatory to authorise payments from an account (e.g. organisation accounts).
